TSeller Takealot stock recon automation — automatically pull your monthly Takealot stock reconciliation, generate the invoice, and auto-submit your lost and damaged stock claim on autopilot in South Africa

Claiming your stock back from Takealot has never been easier. Stock goes missing in Takealot's warehouses — lost in DC transfers, damaged in handling, or cancelled under a DC Stock Enquiry — and Takealot will refund you for it, but only if you actually run a stock reconciliation and submit a claim. Until now that meant doing it yourself every month: download the recon report, build an invoice, lodge a ticket, and chase the payout. We've rebuilt the TSeller Stock Recon feature so none of that has to be your job anymore. Flip two toggles and TSeller pulls your Takealot stock recon at the start of every month, generates the invoice, emails you the outcome, and — if you want — submits the claim to Takealot for you. This is stock recon on autopilot. New to stock recon itself? Start with our full Takealot stock recon guide, then come back here for the automation.

Two New Toggles That Put Stock Recon on Autopilot

The Stock Recon page looks the same as before — every manual feature still works exactly the way it always has. What's new are two toggles at the top, both off by default, so nothing changes until you opt in. Automatic Monthly Email handles the recon and invoice for you each month and emails you the result. Auto-Submit goes one step further and lodges the claim with Takealot for you. Together they remove the recurring monthly admin that stops most sellers from reconciling regularly — which is exactly why so much lost-stock money goes unclaimed.

Automatic Monthly Email: Your Recon, Done For You

Turn this on and TSeller does the work you used to do by hand. At the start of each month it downloads your Takealot stock recon report, generates the invoice, and emails you a clear summary of how much there is to claim back. If there's a claim, the email includes the invoice as a PDF ready to submit, plus the raw recon file so you can review the data or submit it yourself if you prefer. If there's nothing to claim, it tells you that too — so you always know your recon has been checked. This toggle is the foundation: it has to be on before you can enable auto-submit.

Auto-Submit: We Lodge the Claim to Takealot For You

Auto-Submit takes it the rest of the way. With it on, TSeller doesn't just prepare the claim — it submits it to Takealot on your behalf. No downloading reports, no building invoices, no lodging tickets. Once it's submitted you get a confirmation email showing exactly what was lodged — store name, seller ID, email, and claim value — so you have a clean record of every submission. One thing always stays with you: every recon submission, whether automatic or manual, triggers a verification email from Takealot to the account holder. Click the single link in it and your claim is processed — if it's never clicked, Takealot won't pay out. So with auto-submit on, just watch for that verification email; TSeller has already handled everything else.

Track Your Claims and Payouts

A new section at the bottom of the page shows your claims for the last six months, pulled automatically from your Takealot account — each month's submitted claim against what Takealot has actually paid out. See at a glance which months are settled and which need a follow-up: if a month shows a claim with nothing paid out, click into it to open the invoice, download it, and send it back to Takealot. TSeller updates these figures as payments come through, so following up takes seconds instead of an afternoon of cross-referencing. Every invoice — automatic or manual — also stays in Recent Invoices, ready to download for your filing or open straight from your emails.

How to Turn It On

Setup takes under a minute. Open the Recon page from the header, then switch on Automatic Monthly Email — required first — and, if you want hands-off claims, Auto-Submit as well. That's it. From the start of next month TSeller pulls your recon, builds your invoice, emails you the outcome, and lodges the claim with Takealot automatically. Just remember to click Takealot's verification email when it arrives. None of this replaces the manual workflow — you can still upload a template, run an ad-hoc recon, and submit by hand exactly as before, or try the free Takealot stock recon tool with no account at all. The automation is simply a layer on top for sellers who'd rather not think about it each month.

Conclusion

Stock reconciliation is one of the simplest ways to recover money that's genuinely owed to you on Takealot — and the only reason most sellers leave it on the table is that doing it every month is tedious. This update removes that excuse. Turn on both toggles, click Takealot's verification link when it lands, and let TSeller pull your recon, build your invoice, and lodge your claim on autopilot — while the new six-month view shows you exactly what's been paid and what still needs a follow-up. We think this will help a lot of sellers claim back funds they didn't even know they were owed. Start your free 14-day trial at https://tseller.co.za, or head to the Recon page and flip the toggles if you're already a TSeller user. This is the first of a lot more automation coming to TSeller — tell us what you think once you've used it.
